Our Health Promotion Team provides activities to promote Western Australian women's wellness and prevent illness. Community displays, events and free education sessions are tailored to meet women's needs for up to date information and fun opportunities to practice staying well and preventing illness. |
| Popular Group Activities |
Act-Belong-Commit
GWHS is part of the Act-Belong-Commit campaign to promote people being mentally healthy. Positive steps that we can all do for health include:
Act: keep mentally, physically and socially active - take a walk, say g'day, read a book, do a crossword, dance, play cards, stop for a chat ...
Belong: joining in community activities, join a book club, take up a cooking class, be more involved in groups you are already a member of, go along to community events .
Commit: take up a cause, help a neighbour, learn something new, set yourself a challenge, help out at the school or meals on wheels .

Belly Dancing
Come and join us to get fit and have fun!
Introductory classes are offered by an experienced teacher. It is a fantastic way to meet new people, do some exercise and have a great time.
The cost for an 8 week course is $50 and run during school terms

FOODcents
Are you hosting Christmas this year? FOODcents is a fun, interactive course that will show you how to save 25% on your food bill and add 10 years to your life. At the end of the FOODcents course you will have learnt how to effectively and easily budget your food money, choose healthy foods, plan a menu, and cook cheap healthy meals and you will have the skills to save money around the festive season and shop wiser.
Come along, have some fun and cook some delicious food to share. |
Wednesday Women’s Walk and Talk
A casual walking group that meets each Wednesday morning 9:30am
Meet in the foyer of the Gosnells Community Lotteries House (opposite the Gosnells Post Office) 2232C Albany Highway. A great way to do some exercise, meet new people and have a great time.

Weekly meeting to keep you motivated, make friends, and get the information and support you need to lose weight.

Women Working Out
10 week group personal training workshop
For many families joining a gym is not affordable. This 10 week workshop is designed to each women how to exercise and tone their bodies without the need of a gym membership. The workouts and exercise techniques you will learn over the 10 weeks will give you the skills to work out in the comfort of your own home and achieve your weight loss or fitness goals. Please ensure you wear appropriate clothing and footwear.

Are you looking for a guest speaker for your local community group?
We tailor motivational health and well being presentations for local women’s clubs, groups, churches, workplaces and schools. Topics cover the physical, emotional and mental health aspects of reducing your health risks and increasing your wellbeing. Particular topics include nutrition and health, physical activity, cancer prevention and sexually transmitted diseases.
